Use in LED industry

This aluminum base PCB is specified for LED industry applications. It uses Totking T101 material, 1 oz copper, a 1.6 mm board thickness, white solder mask, black silkscreen, lead-free HASL finish, and a punched outline. The construction is intended for a straightforward LED circuit that needs a metal-backed board and a repeatable mechanical shape.

An aluminum-base board is most useful when the electrical layout, mounting method, and thermal interface are planned together. The finished product may sit inside a reflector, housing, channel, or light module, so the board outline cannot be treated as a secondary detail. Mounting holes, edge clearances, connector positions, and LED locations need to match the surrounding assembly.

Product Overview

The 1.6 mm construction establishes the board profile, while the 1 oz copper layer carries the LED routing. This combination is suitable for a single-board lighting layout where the copper requirement and board thickness match the application. Projects that need heavier copper, a different dielectric structure, or another thermal conductivity value should be quoted from their own design data rather than assumed to match this product.

White solder mask is specified for the component side, with black silkscreen for reference markings. In an LED product, the mask color can be part of the optical and visual design as well as the PCB specification. The final artwork should keep polarity marks, reference designators, and other required legends clear of LED pads and mounting features.

Punched Outline and Mechanical Fit

Punching is specified for the finished outline. This process is appropriate when the approved board shape and hole pattern can be produced consistently from the supplied mechanical data. The outline drawing should identify the external profile, mounting holes, slots, cutouts, and any dimension that controls how the board fits inside the light assembly.

The punch requirement also makes edge clearance important. Copper, pads, and components need enough space from the finished edge for the actual design. When the board mounts against a heat sink or metal housing, include the mating surface and fixing method with the quotation files. That gives the mechanical review a real installation condition instead of only a two-dimensional PCB outline.

LED Pads and Assembly

Lead-free HASL is specified for the exposed pads. Pad size, spacing, and solder-mask clearance need to suit the selected LED package, connector, and soldering process. If the board uses polarity-sensitive LEDs or several connector orientations, show these details in the assembly drawing rather than relying on silkscreen alone.

For boards supplied with components, include the BOM, placement data, and assembly drawing with the PCB files. The turnkey PCB assembly page provides related information for projects that combine board fabrication and component installation.

Applications

This board is intended for the LED industry and can be considered for light modules, linear lighting, illuminated signs, and other products that use a defined aluminum-backed LED board. Final suitability depends on the LED package, operating power, housing design, and the way heat leaves the completed assembly. These application details belong in the RFQ when they influence the board construction or mounting pattern.

For a quotation, provide Gerber files, drill files, the punched-outline drawing, and LED assembly information. Include the Totking T101 requirement, lead-free HASL pads, quantity, application, and any inspection requirement. Related board-construction options are shown on the PCB manufacturing capabilities page.
