DuPont material may be used in some rigid-flex PCB applications, but the material name alone is not enough to define a manufacturable board. The design still needs a confirmed material grade, stackup, bend area, surface finish, and inspection plan.
Material brand is not the full specification
A material brand can point to a family of products, but the actual laminate or film type should be confirmed. The selected material must match the electrical, thermal, mechanical, and bend requirements of the board.
For broader material context, see PCB substrate materials and raw materials.
Rigid-flex stackup review
Rigid-flex designs combine rigid component areas and flexible interconnect areas. The material system, adhesive choice, coverlay, copper type, and stiffener plan affect both fabrication and assembly.
Related design context appears in rigid-flex circuit board design.
Application and reliability checks
Communication, industrial, medical, and other demanding applications may require different reliability evidence. The requirement should be stated clearly rather than assumed from the material brand.
For flex-only application context, review FPC flexible circuit boards in smart cars.
Questions before quotation
Ask which exact material is proposed, whether it is available for the requested stackup, what bend requirements apply, which surface finish is suitable, and what inspection or test method will be used.
